Pokemon S9a Battle Region revealed!

The latest Japanese Pokemon set is here: the Pokemon S9a Battle Region set! This set will be the second set in the third year of Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion sets. This set is packed with new V cards, new VSTAR cards and new alternate art cards. But this set will also include a new kind of Pokemon cards: the sparkling cards!

This brand new card type is extra special because only one of these is allowed in your Pokemon TCG deck. kinda like the Gold Star cards from earlier sets, in other words. So what makes these cards so special? First of all, the sparkling Pokemon are always shiny, so you will see that the Pokemon on the cards will look different than normal because they have different colors. Also, they have the "K" rarity, this ensures that the Pokemon have extra strong moves and abilities! In this blog, we will mainly show what the set looks like and what exactly makes this set so special. We will take a look at all the full-art cards as well as the sparkling cards!

Pokemon S9a Battle Region Booster Box and Boosters!

The Booster box va this Japanese Pokemon S9a Battle Region set gives off a vibrant vibe via the apple blue-sea green color combination! It's like we just stepped into the Hisui region and are introduced to Hisuian Typhlosion, Hisuian Decidueye and Hisuian Samurott. These are the 3 newest final starter evolutions of Cyndaquill, Rowlet and Oshawott. These Pokemon starters from other regions have adapted to the former environments of Sinnoh, which used to be called Hisui and as a result have completely changed color and appearance in their final evolution! These Pokemon along with several Hisui Pokemon and fan-favorite Sinnoh Pokemon will be in this Pokemon S9a Battle Region set of boosters!

Pokemon S9a Battle Region Sparkling cards!

As previously mentioned there will be completely new types of cards in the Pokemon S9a Battle Region set, these cards are the sparkling cards! The Pokemon on these cards are always shiny and have special abilities that can give you a huge boost during the Pokemon TCG, as long as you add the card with the right ability to your deck that makes your deck stronger in a positive way and go hand in hand with the other Pokemon, items, trainers and so on in your deck. These cards are reverse holo with a brand new shine in the reverse holo part. Namely, we see a star pattern appear in the shine of the card

We are dealing with two different sparkling cards here in this Pokemon S9a Battle Region set:

Sparkling Greninja
- Ability: Secret Asset: You may 1 time during your turn put an energy from your hand into the discard pile and take 2 other cards from your deck in its place.
- WWC Moonlight Shuriken: Put 2 energy of this Pokemon in the discard pile and do 90 damage on 2 of your opponent's Pokemon. (may also be on the bench).

Sparkling Hawlucha
- Ability: Big Match: As long as this Pokemon is on your bench, all your Pokemon do 30 more damage against Pokemon VMAX.
- FC Spin Attack: Does 50 damage against your opponent.

And finally, the Alternate art cards that look great in this set. As with the previous alternate art cards, we notice that we are dealing with the Pokemon of famous trainers from the games.

Alternate art Garchomp is seen next to Champion Cynthia.
Alternate art Kleavor is seen alongside Warden Lian.
Alternate art Starmie is seen next to Gym Leader Misty.
Alternate art Wyrdeer is seen next to Warden Mai.

Kleavor and Wyrdeer are new Pokemon from the Pokemon Legends Arceus game, Kleavor evolves from Scyther and Wyrdeer evolves from Stantler. Scyther and Stantler are both Pokemon from older generations. Scyther from generation 1 and Stantler from generation 2.
